Aviation Maintenance

The Aviation Maintenance program, in collaboration with Middle Georgia State University, is Part 147 FAA-approved which includes a comprehensive and regulated curriculum that prepares individuals for aircraft maintenance careers. The programs currently covers the General Topic portion of the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification and students receive hands-on training with real aircraft and specialized equipment. These programs are closely monitored by the FAA to ensure compliance with safety and education standards.

    • 11th & 12th Grade

REQUIRED COURSES:

AVMT 1000 - Aviation Math & Physics: Provides students with the knowledge necessary to use and apply mathematical procedures that are applicable to aviation maintenance functions.

AVMT 1010 - Aviation Regulations & Human Factors: Provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to select and use FAA and manufacturers' specifications, data sheets, manuals, related regulations, and technical data; to write descriptions of aircraft conditions, record work performed, and complete maintenance forms and inspection reports; and learn to interpret federal regulations regarding mechanic privileges and limitations.

AVMT 1020 - Aircraft Applied Science: Provides the student with the fundamentals of aircraft maintenance. Topics include: fluid lines and fittings, materials and processes, aircraft cleaning and corrosion control, and aircraft inspection techniques.

AVMT 1025 - Aircraft Applied Science II: Aircraft Applied Science II provides the student with the fundamentals of aircraft maintenance. Topics include: fluid lines and fittings, materials and processes, aircraft cleaning and corrosion control, and aircraft inspection techniques.

AVMT 1030 - Fundamentals of Electricity and Electronics: This course provides a study of the relationships of voltage, current, and resistance in aircraft electrical systems, and the use of meters. Alternators; generators; starters; motors; charging systems; basic AC and DC systems; and semiconductor, solid state, and integrated circuit fundamentals are introduced.

Credential(s) Earned: CTAE Pathway Completer / FAA Part 147 General Endorsement, with successful completion of exam.
